General Notes: African American includes people who identify themselves as Black and people who identify themselves by nationality like African American, Black Puerto Rican, Jamaican, Nigerian, West Indian, or Haitian. Hispanic population are persons of Spanish origin regardless of race; White, African American, American Indian or Alaskan Native, and Asian or Pacific Islander populations do not include Hispanic persons; these four races plus Hispanics sum to total residential population. Historical data are revised each year and some historical data are estimated for witheld data due to disclosure and confidentiality policies.
Residential population as of July 1 each year. Population data 1969-2017 are historical from the U.S. Department of Commerce. Data for years 2018-2050 are projected by Woods & Poole based on Bureau of the Census (a part of the Department of Commerce) population estimates for 1990 through 2017. Data between 1969-1989 are not available for total single-age populations or for single-age populations by race and sex.
