    * Updates for this data series are not available. Instability in the number of counties reporting affects the national median for this data series. "Previous year" data have been moved by the NCES data collection system to one year earlier to align with the reporting school year.

General Notes: *Median value gives the value for the "average" county for this metric, the 50th percentile of all counties reporting data. ** Total number of migrant students enrolled during the school year. Cumulative unduplicated (within school) number of migrant students, as defined under 34 CFR 200.40, enrolled anytime during the school year. Public schools and public charter schools are sometimes administered out-of-state. SAGE Publications has excluded enrollment totals from those schools because they do not neatly fall under the umbrella of a county within the state that administers them, thus rendering county enrollment totals unreliable for comparison purposes. Data from some reporting schools in Alaska prior to 1992 were excluded due to complications involving changing geographic boundaries. Data as reported by each school. ***Indicates the data are not applicable. ****Indicates the data do not meet NCES data quality standards.
